How to Create a Virtual Desktop in Windows 11

Microsoft introduced a task view feature that uses a virtual desktop for function, you can create as many virtual desktops in Windows 11 as you want until your hardware is not overwhelmed.

Here is how you can create a virtual desktop in Windows 11,

1. Press the windows + Tab key or click on the task view icon in the taskbar ( two square-like)

2. Click on the + icon shown as the new desktop heading 

3. Set the thumbnail of your new desktop 

4. To switch between the old and new desktop simply click the window+ Tab key and click on the desktop you want to switch 

How to Remove virtual desktop in windows 11

When you want to remove any virtual desktop from your PC then you can easily remove it with a few clicks,

Here how,

1. Click on the task view icon or press the Windows+ tab key

2. Hover the cursor on that desktop which one you want to remove 

3. Click the cross icon located in the top right corner to remove the desktop 

How to customize a virtual desktop in windows 11 

There are plenty of options to customize your virtual desktop in Windows 11, 

1. To change the name of the virtual desktop 

1. Press the task view icon and Hover the cursor on the desktop which you want to change the name,

2. Right-click and select rename 

3. Type the new name for the virtual desktop 

2. To rearrange the virtual desktop 

You can easily rearrange your virtual desktop for example, by moving the desktop from left to right to change its location,

1. Click on the task view icon then right-click on desktop 

2. Select Move Right or select move left 

3. Alternatively you can press Alt+ shift+ left and Alt+ shift + right

3. To change the background of the virtual desktop 

1. Click on task view and right-click on desktop then select background 

2. In personalization, you can picture, use solid color, or create a slide show of pictures.
