How to Factory Reset Windows 10/11 PC

Sometimes your PC isn't running well or keeps showing errors and crashes frequently. In that case, resetting the PC might help get rid of this issue.

Reset PC is nothing but reinstalling the Windows operating system to keep your files or completely remove them.

Here we show two official methods to reset Windows 10 PC easily.

Note: make sure you have a stable and fast internet connection ( either wifi or ethernet) available during the reset PC procedure. 

Create a full data backup of your PC to restore if anything goes wrong.

1. Using settings 

Here is easy way to quickly reset your Windows 10 PC using the settings app in Windows,

1. Open settings by pressing the windows key or start

2. Click on update and security 

3. Click on the recovery option located in the vertical row

4. Click on reset this PC button 

Once you click to reset this PC the Windows Reset Assistant program will ask your option like keep a file or remove everything 

If you want to keep your personal file as it is then click on the keep my files button and if you want a complete format PC then click on the Remove Everything button.

After that windows will start resetting the PC and download fresh Windows 10 images from the windows office server.

All processes will take up to 10-15 minutes or longer depending on the PC.

2. Using the WinRE boot tool

You can reset your windows 10 PC using the WinRE boot tool if you can't access it or can start Windows for any reason.

To open the WinRE boot menu shut down your windows pc and press the power n button.

Click the F12 or Delete button immediately after the manufacturer logo appears while starting windows. Then click Windows recovery mode in the boot menu.

1. Simple open WinRE tool

2. Click on troubleshoot 

3. Click reset this PC option 

4. Select ( keep a personal file or remove everything)

5. Choose ( local or cloud ) for Windows image download 

6. Sign in with an existing Windows account 

7. Click the reset button and wait 

Sometimes windows will take more time than expected, it is recommended that wait until the process is complete and not turn off the PC during this process.
